Description

Wonders in Nature

The purpose of this book is to generate wonder in the minds of the readers regarding life in general and the wonderful way all living beings – plants, animals and humans – function as if there is built in computer within, to attain twin purpose, namely preservation of self and perpetuation of the species. The reason for making such an effort is on account of the settled attitude of the so called Post Modern Philosophers to exclude God completely from the universe. They advocate that Science itself can explain the origin and progress of the entire universe without any intervention of God. The origin of the universe is attributed to the “Big Bang”. But how the stuff that banged originated, still remains a mystery.

Fr John Mialil is a Jesuit Priest with a Master’s Degree in Botany. All through life he was in teaching profession. He taught in St Joseph’s College, Tiruchirapally, St Xavier’s College, Trivandrum and Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada. He had a year’s teaching in the Junior Central School, Punaka, Bhutan. At present he is spending his retired life in Christ Hall, Calicut, Kerala.

Nature and Science do speak of God. The universe is a mystery to man, to the believer and non believer, to the learned and unlettered alike. If we look around us, above us an beneath us we see multitudinous abyss of space with myriads of creatures, big and small. The smallest cell the defies the keenest human sight, the highest mountain peak, the tinest water molecule, all pay homage to the Sovereign Being. Nature is a fact, a reality that need of an explanation.

In this book, Fr John Mialil speaks of the ‘Wonders in nature’ with specific examples. There are thousands of miracles taking place in the universe, many as yet undreamt by man. .The pages in this book will suffice us to raise our minds and hearts with folded hands to pay homage to the Ordainer, the Master Designer, and the creator. We are sure this book will inspire any reader.
