About the Author

Ranier Cantalamessa, Franciscan Capuchin, former professor of Ancient Christianity at the Catholic University of Milan and a member of the International Theological Commission serves since 1980 as the preacher of the Papal Household. He is a member of the Catholic Commission for Dialogue with the Pentecostal Churches. He has authored several books and many of them have been translated into various languages.

The meditations in this book are comments on the Passion readings given by Ranier Cantalamessa in the Basilica of St. Peter in the presence of the Pope during the Good Friday’ services from 1996 to 2006.
