Description

Busting Myths Against Minorities

About the Book

India has been witnessing violence against religious minorities from last many decades. This violence has its roots in hatred against these sections. This hatred in turn is constructed by spreading myths and creating stereotypes. This book undertakes to burst some of these myths which have been made part of social common sense. It takes up the myths related to history and brings forth the truth about  temple destruction and conversions in India. The high point of Indian culture, the interaction and celebration of inter community life is underlined. It also takes up the issue of freedom movement, rise of Indian nationalism and the reaction to it in the form of religious nationalism. These are only some of the misconceptions dealt with in the book. More of them are created on regular basis. The approach of this work makes it clear that an objective, rational understanding of the past and present is important for development of society in a harmonious way.
