This publication presents the latest exegetical insights and reflective meditations on the Sunday Gospel readings of the current liturgical year (Year A). It is our firm conviction that this volume will serve as a valuable pastoral resource for priests, particularly in the preparation of Sunday homilies.
The book comprises 71 chapters, covering Sundays as well as major feast days. Each chapter is systematically arranged under four headings: Context, Theme, Insights for Life, and Parable.
Permit us to outline these briefly:
- Context – An exposition of the biblical and situational context of the Gospel passage under consideration.
- Theme – A concise presentation of the principal theme of the given Gospel text.
- Insights for Life – Three key messages that the Gospel passage communicates to contemporary life situations.
- Parable – A parable that unveils the core message of the Gospel, with particular reference to the anagogical sense, one of the four senses of Sacred Scripture as taught by the Church.
Extending over 392 pages, the work has been carefully conceived as a reference volume for Sunday preaching.
